Jakarta, April 11, 2014 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ASX - ATM; IDX – ANTM; ANTAM) is pleased to announce that the company has unveiled the e-library facility at Khairun University, Ternate, North Maluku. The opening ceremony was attended by ANTAM's General Affairs & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Director, I Made Surata, and Rector of Khairun University, Dr. Husen Alting, S.H., M.H.
The e-library facility provides information, knowledge and research materials to the students, lecturers and staffs of the Khairun University as well as to the general public in North Maluku. The e-library will also streamline the management of the publication and information stored in digital format, thus eliminating the need to invest in hardcopy publication and storage facility. The e-library facility is expected to promote the advancement of the education of the North Maluku community.
In developing the e-library facility, ANTAM supported the development of the hardware and interior infrastructure to support the existing e-library application software.
ANTAM's General Affairs & CSR Director, I Made Surata, said:
"ANTAM is committed to promote the advancement of the education of the community, particularly those who live at the surrounding areas of ANTAM's operations. This commitment is reflected in the implementation of CSR activities in the field of education, such as the development educational infrastructure, facilitation of education programs and workshops, distribution of scholarship programs for K-12 and college students as well as providing scholarship programs for university lecturers to study abroad."
In 2013, ANTAM donated Rp9.35 billion for CSR activities in the field of education through its Partnership and Community Development Program.
