Jakarta, 25 October 2017 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ASX - ATM; IDX – ANTM; ANTAM) is pleased to announce the Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Deputy Attorney General for Civil and Administrative Affairs Office (JAM DATUN) regarding the provision of legal advocacy to ANTAM on civil law and state administration law issues. ANTAM's President Director Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo and the Acting Deputy General Prosecutor of Civil and State Administration Nur Rochmad signed the MoU on October 23rd 2017 in Jakarta.
ANTAM’s President Director Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo said:
"The signing of this MoU strengthens our commitment in the implementation of good corporate governance principles, notably in compliance with prevailing regulations on the operations of ANTAM’s business units and subsidiaries. The MoU will mitigate the legal risk and augment the effectiveness of legal settlement related to civil and state administration law issues both inside or outside of court.”
The MoU between ANTAM and JAM DATUN lasts for 2 years until 2019. A total of 13 MoUs were signed during the event, related to advocacy on civil and state administrative law issues for ANTAM’s business units and subsidiaries. The General Managers of ANTAM's Business Units and Directors of ANTAM’s subsidiaries signed the MoU with the Head of Chief Prosecutor of the Provinces of Jambi, West Java, Banten, West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, and Papua, as well as with the Head of the State Prosecutor of Sanggau, Tidore, Konawe and Kolaka, respectively.
During the event, ANTAM also held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on “The Role of State Attorney to the Protection of SOE’s Operations”. ANTAM’s Directors, Business Units/General Managers, Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents and Directors of Subsidiaries attended the event.
