Jakarta, July 9, 2024 – PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM), member of PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero) (MIND ID) – the State-Owned Enterprise of the Mining Industry, is please to announce that the Company through its Precious Metal Processing and Refinery Business Unit and the Government of East Jakarta Administrative City synergize in performing Urban Farming and Environmental Cleaning Action in the Eastern Flood Channel Door Zone (BKT) in Melaka Sari Village, Duren Sawit District. This activity was one of the “Sinergi Lestari” implementations and part of the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) Environmental Pillars.
ANTAM Business Development Director, I Dewa Wirantaya said that:
"As a company that prioritizes sustainability, ANTAM has committed to implementing ESG (environmental, social, and governance) aspects. The synergy implemented along with the Government of East Jakarta Administrative City is one of the efforts in ESG implementation in ANTAM that is expected to maintain environmental preservation and provide added value for community living surrounding the Precious Metal Processing and Refinery Business Unit operational area. Additionally, it is one of the implementations of employee volunteering of ANTAM employees.”
Urban Farming & Environmental Cleaning Action involved 600 volunteers, consisting of 200 ANTAM employees from the Head Office, Precious Metal Processing and Refinery Business Unit, and Geomin Unit, as well as community and society around the Jakarta area. Various productive plants were planted in the BKT area, Melaka Sari Village, including chilies and shallot, eggplant, bok choy, and mustard green. There are also tree plantation activities and environmental cleaning actions that were conducted in River Watersheds, infrastructure, and general utilities management in Duren Sawit District together with ANTAM’s Emergency Response Group (ERG) team.
The synergy performed by ANTAM and the Government of East Jakarta Administrative City was the sustainable implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility program. This activity was not just a one-time effort, but a long-term commitment to the environment and community. It was expected to increase green zones and food resilience through the utilization of productive land, improve public capacity related to urban farming implementation, and assist in managing land abrasion due to floods in BKT Melaka Sari Village.
