Buli - "Pioneer" Public Library or Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) is one of ANTAM's support for the government program to increase reading enthusiasts to the community. The program is in line with the SOEs Ministry’s commitment to providing 1,000 libraries Indonesia.
On Thursday, February 20, 2020, ANTAM's North Maluku Nickel Mining Business Unit established the Pioneer TBM in Maba District, East Halmahera, following by training and mentoring. Furthermore, this TBM will be managed intensively by the Empowerment of Family Welfare (Penggerak PKK) of Maba District.
Vice President HC & CSR ANTAM UBP Nickel North Maluku, Agustinus Toko Susetio (Koko) said that the establishment of Pioneer TBM aims to improve the literacy culture for the people in East Halmahera.
"ANTAM hopes that women can encourage children and the general public to enjoy reading at Pioneer TBM," Koko said.
Pioneer TBM was first initiated by ANTAM on November 6, 2019 in Pulogadung, East Jakarta. ANTAM provides a variety of book collections, both physical and digital.
The digital concept TBM also features general books, youth and children, as well as education books of 2013 curriculum with the explanation, audio books, films and interesting videos to add new insights to its users.
“In line with ANTAM CSR program, the Company has determined the location of TBM in the operation area. We wish TBM will reach a wider community such as school, local administration office, and village library," explained Luki Setiawan Suardi as ANTAM's Director of Human Resources.
Aside from North Maluku Nickel Mining Business Unit, TMB with an offline concept was also built in West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit and the exploration area of ​​ANTAM's Geomin & Technology Development Unit in Garut. While the digital concept TBM was built in three points of the operational area, the Precious Metal Processing & Refining Business Unit, the Gold Mining Business Unit and the Southeast Sulawesi Mining Business Unit.
