ANTAM Allocates Electricity Supply From Its Pomalaa Coal Fired Power Plant

Jakarta, November 1, 2016    - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM; ANTAM) is pleased to announce the distribution of electricity supply from its coal fired power plant to the electricity grid of the State’s PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN) Kolaka Region in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The distribution took place on October 27, 2016 coincided with the National Electricity Day. The event also marked the synergy between ANTAM and PLN.

ANTAM’s Operations Director, Agus Zamzam Jamaluddin said,
" The synergy between ANTAM and PLN aims to support the electricity needs of the Kolaka communities as well as to increase the electrification ratio in Indonesia. "

The synergy between ANTAM and PLN commenced on October 21, 2016 through the signing of the Cooperation Agreement on the Purchase of Excess Power of Pomalaa Coal Fired Power Plant (CFPP) in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Under the agreement, the operations of ANTAM’s CFPP will be interconnected with PLN’s grid system with a maximum load of 5MW (five megawatts). In addition to ANTAM’s commitment to the Government of Kolaka Regency, the synergy between ANTAM and PLN also aims to support the Government policy in increasing the national electrification ratio.

The operations of the 2 x 30 MW CFPP will increase the capability of ANTAM’s ferronickel plant which has also operated 8x17MW Diesel Power Plant.
