Kolaka, December 28, 2016 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ASX -ATM; IDX – ANTM; ANTAM) announces it has sponsored the development of the Kolaka Region Public Hospital in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR). The initiative is marked by a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Southeast Sulawesi Governor Nur Alam, Kolaka Regent H. Achmad Safei and ANTAM’s Human Capital & CSR Operations Director I Made Surata. The ceremony is held today, December 28, 2016.
ANTAM’s Human Capital & CSR Director, I Made Surata said:
" ANTAM is pleased to take part in the development of the Kolaka Region Public Hospital. This is inline with the company’s program in improving health access as part of our corporate social responsibility. We hope the development of the hospital will provide better health service to the public, particularly to the Kolaka community. Health sector is one of our key area in CSR implementation besides education, infrastructure development, economy improvement, socio culture and religion. "
ANTAM views the implementation of CSR is one of the strategies to create sustainable development in the company’s operational area. ANTAM endeavors to create positive influence to the environment as well as to generate community welfare and self reliance as part of its sustainability strategy.
ANTAM focuses is sustainable community development initiative in key areas of: (1) Increased access and quality of education; (2) Increased access and quality of health; (3) Development of local economy; (4) Preservation of community social cultural values; (5) Conservation and rehabilitation of the environment; and (6) Strengthening of the local community and local government’s institutional capacity.
In addition to Kolaka, ANTAM also implements its CSR activities throughout its operational area of West Java, North Maluku and West Kalimantan. ANTAM also conducts CSR activities in its post mining area through the Partnership and Community Stewardship program and the Community Development program.
