Manado, 11 September 2017 – PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ASX: ATM, IDX: ANTM, ANTAM) and PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) (Pos Indonesia) are pleased to announce the continuation of both companies’ strategic cooperation in the gold sales and distribution of ANTAM’s precious metal products. During the initial partnership, sales of ANTAM’s gold are available for purchase in 109 post offices. Today, both companies have agreed to expand the gold sales distribution channels to 205 post offices in Indonesia. The event was marked with the launching ceremony held at Manado Post Office. The Director of Network, Retail and Human Resources of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) Ira Puspadewi and ANTAM’s Marketing Director Tatang Hendra were present at the ceremony.
The partnership between ANTAM and Pos Indonesia aims to provide comfortable access to the public in purchasing ANTAM’s gold in every post offices throughout Indonesia. The synergy also aims to leverage both companies’ businesses. ANTAM expects to expand the marketing network of its gold products through the partnership, whilst Pos Indonesia aims to increase its revenue through new business services. The services will cater mostly walk in customers and will provide Pos Indonesia with excellent image as reputable service provider capable of handling valuable goods. Pos Indonesia also expects to increase its competitive advantage against its competitors as well as educating the ublic to invest or save for the future through gold products.
ANTAM’s Marketing Director, Tatang Hendra said that ANTAM is committed in conducting good operational practices from exploration, mining, environmental management, processing & refining, and sales. He further said, “We hope the partnership with Pos Indonesia will strengthen the performance of our gold business. Stronger product distribution channel will enhance ANTAM’s position as Indonesia’s only LBMA certified processing and refinery facility producer which ensures gold weight precision and purity.”
PT Pos Indonesia (Persero)’s Retail and Human Resources Director, Ira Puspadewi said that the support of Pos Indonesia’s 24,000 service point network will provide easier access to the general public to purchase ANTAM’s gold. The network also covers Inspection Post Office (KPRK), City Branch Post Office (KPC DK) and Out-of-Town Post Office (KPC LK).
Ira also guarantees the program is supported by reliable information technology system of gold purchasing, ordering and delivery of valuable goods. She also said, “The transaction data will be verified precisely, accurately and quickly. The information technology system provides easier reconciliation process, settlement and reporting for monitoring and evaluation purposes for both the company and its partner.”
The partnership between ANTAM and Pos Indonesia includes providing sales points, payment and distribution of ANTAM’s Logam Mulia (LM) gold products at the post offices. The public can purchase LM gold products at the post office using a booking system. ANTAM will then use Pos Indonesia services for gold delivery from the nearest LM Gold boutiques to the post office serving as point of purchase.
A total of 205 post offices throughout Indonesia are now part of ANTAM and Pos Indonesia partnership. Customers can order the LM gold products weighing from 0.5 grams up to 50 grams at 205 post offices since September 11, 2017.
