ANTAM Launches Initiative To Plant 10,000 Trees At Jakarta's East Canal Flood Control

Jakarta, December 28, 2011 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ANTAM; ASX - ATM; IDX - ANTM) ) today launches an initiative to plant 10,000 trees on top of unproductive land and river banks at the North Jakarta East Canal Flood Control (ECFC).

ANTAM’s General Affairs and CSR Director, Denny Maulasa, the Rector of the University of Trisakti, Thoby Mutis, the Director of Center for Entrepreneurship, Change and the Third Sector (CECT) of the Trisakti University, Maria Radyati, the Director of ECFC, Pujiono and community members living around ECFC were present during the ceremony.

ANTAM’s CSR & GA Director, Denny Maulasa said,

"This program shows ANTAM’s commitment to participate actively in nature conservation efforts. The program also supports the empowerment of the communities as well as the government’s one billion tree program."

ANTAM will plant various type of trees, such as industrial crops, cover crops, and fruits. The initiative is part of ANTAM’s cooperation with Trisakti University’s CECT, the university’s arm of community empowerment and development institution.

The initiative reflects ANTAM's efforts in nature conservation. The exercise is a regular, annual event which is held throughout ANTAM’s operations area.
