ANTAM Helps To Fund Restoration Of Betawi Traditional Houses

Jakarta, January 26th, 2010 - PT ANTAM Tbk (ASX-ATM; IDX - ANTM), is pleased to announce its participation in the restoration of Betawi traditional houses located at Srengseng Sawah area, South Jakarta. Betawi is Jakarta’s indigenous people. The Betawi traditional houses will be allocated for the less fortunate communities living in the area. ANTAM hopes the program will also help to provide a safe and healthy shelter for the community.

ANTAM's Director of General Affairs & CSR , Denny Maulasa Denny said,

"Our support of the restoration program is another example of our commitment in preserving the local arts and culture. "

The program has completed renovation works on 10 Betawi traditional houses located in the Betawi Cultural Village at Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta. ANTAM allocates Rp500 million for the progam. This program has unique characteristics in providing shelters for the less fortunate communities, and at the same time preserving local culture.

The launch of the program was attended by the Deputy Mayor of South Jakarta and the Deputy of the Self Supporting Housing of the Ministry of Public Housing. ANTAM cooperates with the Habitat for Humanity Indonesia (HFHI) for the renovation program. The Habitat for Humanity Indonesia also has regular programs of building houses for the less fortunate people. Tri Budiardjo, the National Director of HFHI welcomes the cooperation between ANTAM and YHKI and ANTAM. Tri said, "Our cooperation program with ANTAM can be a pilot program to preserve the local cultural heritage."
