Jakarta, September 14, 2024 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) or ANTAM has been awarded the 2024 Subroto Award through the Gold Mining Business Unit.
This award was given as an appreciation for ANTAM's contribution in improving the independence and welfare of the community around the operating area by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) Bahlil Lahadalia, which was also attended by the President of Republic Indonesia Joko Widodo.
ANTAM President Director Nico Kanter stated that this award is a form of ANTAM's commitment to continue to remain an active role in supporting community empowerment in its operational areas.
“It is ANTAM's commitment to continue to make an optimal contribution to the community in all operational areas. Through Gold Mining Business Unit, ANTAM continues to carry out various corporate social responsibility programs to increase community independence,” said Nico.
One of the flagship programs implemented by Gold Mining Business Unit is Pepeling Cisangku (Cisangku Environmental Preservation), which aims to develop the Cisangku Conservation Village Model (MKK).
The program is designed to empower communities around Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS) to remain an active role in protecting the environment while improving economic welfare through sustainable management of natural resources.
The program includes initiatives such as community-based sheep farming, the development of a bokashi fertilizer production house, an endemic plant nursery and forest restoration. In addition, ANTAM also develops ecotourism as an alternative income for local communities.
All of these activities are based on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, which ensure the Company's operational activities are sustainable and have a positive impact on community economic growth.
“Through the implementation of ESG principles, We are committed to implementing sustainable and responsible operations, so that the positive impact can be felt directly by the community,” added Nico.
The Subroto Award is the highest award in the energy and mineral resources sector given to parties with outstanding achievements in advancing the sector.
In addition to Gold Mining Business Unit, ANTAM's subsidiary, PT Gag Nikel, also received an award for its compliance in fulfilling non-tax state revenue obligations.
“As a company engaged in the mining sector, ANTAM and all its subsidiaries continue to strive to implement good mining practices and maintain operation excellence in order to make an optimal contribution to the country and all stakeholders,” concluded Nico.
This award emphasizes ANTAM's position as a mining company that not only focuses on business performance, but also has a positive impact on society and the environment.
