Jakarta, August 19, 2024 – PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM), member of PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero) (MIND ID) - The State-Owned Enterprise of Mining Industry, announced that the Company was acknowledged for its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiative at the ESG Initiative Awards (EIA) 2024. The Company received three awards for Best Regulatory and Policy Advocacy, Best Biodiversity and Nature Conservation, and Best Leader for ESG Initiative in the awards held on August 8, 2024.
ANTAM's Director of Operations and Production, Hartono, said:
“The implementation of ESG principles in carrying out operations is the key to achieving sustainability in ANTAM. The Company continues to encourage innovation, especially in the implementation of sustainable operations following good corporate governance and applicable environmental management standards. We also emphasize the importance of management’s role in ensuring that ESG initiatives are implemented consistently. This EIA 2024 motivates Us to continue improving ESG initiatives' implementation to provide optimal benefits for all stakeholders and shareholders.”
ANTAM won the Diamond Predicate in the Best Biodiversity Nature Conservation category. As a company that manages mineral resources, ANTAM realizes the importance of environmental management, including maintaining biodiversity. In the Best Regulatory and Policy Advocacy category, the Company won the Gold Predicate. In addition, ANTAM also won the Best Leader for ESG Initiative award through the ESG Team Leader, Anas Safriatna.
ANTAM continues to make various sustainability efforts, starting with environmental management, where in the 2022-2023 period, the Company planted 1.5 million trees. ANTAM also recorded zero fatalities in 2023, which proves good Occupational Safety and Health (K3) practices. We also strive to provide optimal contributions to the state and help increase community independence through the implementation of sustainable performance.
