Jakarta, 17 September 2019 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM) is pleased to announce the Company received four awards in Indonesian Sustainable Development Goals Awards. The award has inaugurated by Corporate Forum for Community Development (CFCD) and awarded to Company on September 6, 2019. This awards is given to the Companies which are successfully implementing the community development programs and contributing on development of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia. ANTAM has successfully received the award since the programs are meeting with SDGs.
ANTAM's Human Resources Director, Luki Setiawan Suardi said:
"ANTAM implement corporate social and environmental responsibility programs throughout the Company’s operational areas. ANTAM's CSR program focuses on the empowerment activity, such as, among others, small business development, education and environmental preservation. The program is part of Company's commitment on development of community economic self-sufficiency, especially on the community around the Company's operational areas."
ANTAM received a “Platinum” award from "The Ciguha Village Revitalization, from Illegal Mining Activity-Based into Agrobusiness-Based Tourist Village Centre" program. The Program performed by the Gold Mining Business Unit suitable with the SDGs first criteria, namely No Poverty, related to the eradication of Poverty and development of survival for the disadvantaged community.
Furthermore, ANTAM received a “Gold” for two programs. The first was acquired through North Maluku Nickel Mining Business Unit with "Coffee Farmers Welfare and self-sufficiency" program in East Halmahera region. The Program related to the second SDGs criteria, namely Zero Hunger which associated with the improvement of food security for disadvantaged households. ANTAM received the second "Gold" award by "The Sungapan River Ecoriparian, Kiarasari Village, Nanggung Sub-District." The program successfully obtained “Gold” rank since suite with the sixth SDGs criteria, namely Clean Water and Sanitation related to the creation of healthy sanitation access. The program runs by Gold Mining Business Unit.
ANTAM received the next award throughout Precious Metals Processing and Refinery Business Unit by "Nyicil Emas" (Nyimas) initiation program and received the “Silver” award. This program was considered in line with the first SDGs criteria, namely No Poverty. ISDA 2019 is an award and appreciation given to the Company or institution for their performances in promoting of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) achievement in Indonesia.
