Jakarta, December 18, 2012 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ASX - ATM; IDX - ANTM; ANTAM) is pleased to announce that ANTAM Medika Hospital (RSAM), in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, is ready to operate. The ceremony was led by ANTAM's President Director, Alwinsyah Lubis.
RSAM is owned by ANTAM's retiree health care funds, Yakespenantam. Yakespenantam has a 99% stake in the RSAM, with the other 1% is owned by ANTAM's pension fund. The establishment of RSAM aims to augment Yakespenantam's investment as to provide better health care services in the future for ANTAM's retirees and employees.
In addition to provide health care services for ANTAM's employees, retirees, and their families, RSAM will also serve the general public. Currently, RSAM is classified as C-type hospital with 100 hospital beds. RSAM plans to expand the number of hospital beds to 200 and will be classified as a B-type hospital.
The construction cost of RSAM amounts to Rp153 billion. With the adoption of the concept of green building, the RSAM is a pilot project for hospitals in Jakarta. The public opening of the hospital will be held in the first quarter of 2013.
By capitalizing on ANTAM paramedics competencies, partnership with medical professions, as well as market potentials, RSAM offers three flagship services: Woman and Children, Trauma Center, as well as Occupational Health which is integrated with the Medical Check Up (MCU) service. The Trauma Center and Occupational Health, together with the MCU services, are established to provide occupational safety and health services mainly for industrial companies located in the East Jakarta area.
