Jakarta, January 14, 2022 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM), a member of Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) – the State-Owned Enterprise Holding of the Mining Industry, announced that the Ciguha River Education, Conservation and Tourism (Ecotourism) Area, one of ANTAM’s foster partner, inaugurated by the Deputy Governor of West Java, Mr. Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, on Thursday, January 13, 2022. The Deputy Governor of West Java also gave awards to Local Heroes who synergize with ANTAM in preserving the environment around the Cikaniki River area.

“Ciguha River Ecotourism Development is ANTAM's commitment with the community and key stakeholders such as the Mount Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS) to preserve the environment and is a tangible manifestation of the Creating Shared Value concept between the Company, the community, and the government to restore Ciguha Village. We would like to thank Mr. Uu Ruzhanul Ulum who inaugurated Ciguha River Ecotourism and gave awards to Local Heroes in the Pongkor area, namely Mr. Acang, Mr. Willy. Suhendi, and Mr. Hendrik, who have synergized with ANTAM in preserving the environment around the Cikaniki River area.”
Ciguha Ecotourism Development is a sustainable program by ANTAM through the Gold Mining Business Unit to empower the residents of Ciguha Village to become part of the solution to environmental damage in the upper Cikaniki river due to PETI (Unlicensed Gold Miners) activities. This is done so that Ciguha Village becomes empowered and sustainable. For efforts to manage the environment and sustainability in the Ciguha Village area and around the operational area, ANTAM Gold Mining Business Unit received GOLD PROPER Ranking from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in December 28, 2021.
Ciguha River Ecotourism which is part of the CIKAL TANGKAL (Ciguha Kampung Lestari Tangguh Kawal Lingkungan) program, is carried out with the riverside optimization to reduce the burden of pollution, especially from domestic waste and make the location became environmental education tourism destination for the community.
The development of Ciguha River Ecotourism and environmental preservation in the Pongkor area is also inseparable from the existence of Local Heroes who are pioneers in inviting the community to take care of the environment and even develop it into social capital to ensure the sustainability of environmental management. It is hoped that through the initiation of conservation that has been carried out, this will continue to ensure the sustainability of the Ciguha River for the sake of future generations to come.
