Jakarta, September 15, 2016 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM; ANTAM) is pleased to announce that the company has made an appointment of the EPC (Engineering , Procurement and Construction) turnkey contract tender winner of Haltim Ferronickel Plant Development Project (P3FH) Phase 1 Line 1 to unincorporated consortium of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI) and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA). With a contract value of Rp3.42 trillion .
ANTAM’s Development Director, Johan N.B. Nababan said,
" The appointment EPC contract tender winners of P3FH project is our commitment in the completion of Haltim Ferronickel Plant Development Projects on time and on budget. Haltim ferronickel plant will increase the production capacity from 27,000-30,000 TNi per year to 40,500-43,500 TNi per year, that will support the stainless steel project plan. P3FH project can carry out commissioning in late 2018. "
P3FH project is one of the ANTAM’s strategic projects which aims to increase the value added potential company nickel ore through processing nickel ore into ferronickel. P3FH Project Phase 1 Line 1 will have a production capacity of 13,500 TNi. Haltim Ferronickel Plant will be supported by the main production facilities are Rotary Dryer with a capacity of 170 tons per hour, Rotary Kiln capacity of 165 tons per hour, Electric Smelting Furnace with a capacity of 60 MW and other supporting equipment. Inline with electricity supply Haltim ferronickel plant, in January 2016, has been signed the MoU regarding Power Plant Development between ANTAM and PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA) which will build a power plant with a capacity of 80 MW.
