ANTAM East Halmahera Ferronickel Plant Development Project (P3FH) Enters the First Metal Tapping Stage

Jakarta, September 14, 2023 – PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM), member of PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero) (MIND ID) - the State-Owned Enterprise Holding of the Mining Industry, announced that the Company has carried out first metal tapping of the East Halmahera Ferronickel Plant on September 12, 2023. The first metal tapping process is a part of the commissioning process for the East Halmahera Ferronickel Plant and a continuation of the Electric Smelting Furnace (ESF) switch-on stage, which was previously held on July 19, 2023.

ANTAM's Director of Business Development, I Dewa Wirantaya, said:
"The East Halmahera Ferronickel Plant's first metal tapping is the third phase of a commissioning series, which is targeted to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2023. During the commissioning process, ANTAM ensures the stability and safety of the plant operations. The Company is preparing commercial production as the next step.”

The East Halmahera Ferronickel Plant, located in East Halmahera, North Maluku, will have a capacity of 13,500 Ton Nickel in Ferronickel (TNi). After being fully operational, the East Halmahera Ferronickel Plant will support ferronickel production from the Kolaka Ferronickel Plant in Southeast Sulawesi, with a capacity of 27,000 TNi. Thus, ANTAM will have an installed ferronickel production capacity of 40,500 TNi.
