ANTAM Launches English Training Program For University Lecturers And Students In North Maluku

Ternate, March 8th, 2012 - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ANTAM; ASX - ATM; IDX - ANTM) ) is pleased to announce the launch of its English training program for university lecturers and students as part of ANTAM’s Corporate Social Responsiblity (CSR) programs in education in North Maluku.

The opening ceremony was conducted on Monday, March 5th, 2012 by ANTAM’s Director of CSR and General Affairs, Denny Maulasa. Also present at the launch were, among others, the Rector of the University of Khairun, Gufran Ali Ibrahim, and Vice Rector III of the University of Muhammadiyah of North Maluku, Sofyan Abbas.

ANTAM's Director of CSR & General Affairs, Denny Maulasa said:

"The program, which is part of our CSR initiatives, aims to improve the quality of human resources in the surrounding areas of ANTAM’s operations in North Maluku. We expect the training will improve the English proficiency level of university lecturers and students, resulting in increased competencies and competitiveness."

As part of the program, ANTAM will provide two English native teachers for 12 months to train 80 university students and 40 university lecturers.

In addition, ANTAM will give several scholarships to lecturers of the University of Khairun and the University of Muhammadiyah of North Maluku to study abroad in 2012. One of the requirements to receive the scholarship is to obtain a minimum TOEFL score of 550.
