ANTAM Officially Enter JIIPE, Strengthening Competitiveness and Encourage Mineral Downstreaming

Gresik, January 13, 2025 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) or ANTAM, officially signed a land transaction agreement with Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE) in Gresik, East Java on December 27, 2024. This strategic step marks ANTAM’s commitment to supporting the downstream of the national mineral industry, especially in constructing precious metal processing plants, while utilizing JIIPE’s integrated infrastructure, designed as a National Vital Object.

ANTAM Business Development Director, I Dewa Wirantaya said JIIPE was selected as a development location based on its strategic location, proximity to raw materials, and high-security guarantees.

“JIIPE’s status as a National Vital Object provides an extraordinary level of security to support our operational processes, from raw material processing to distribution. This is one of Our main considerations when deciding on this location,” said Dewa.

According to Dewa, the presence of the PT Freeport Indonesia smelter in JIIPE also provides additional benefits for ANTAM. Through direct access to 99.99% pure gold raw materials, ANTAM can save foreign exchange through reduced imports and increased use of domestic products.

In addition to safety factors, JIIPE offers word-class infrastructure that supports ANTAM’s operational efficiency.

“JIIPE provides good infrastructure facilities, easy transportation access, and reliable utilities. This allows Us to support downstream, strengthen the national economy, and spur sustainable industrial growth,” Dewa added.

Through this collaboration, ANTAM and JIIPE show strong synergy in supporting mineral downstream, operational efficiency, and sustainable economic development in Indonesia.
