Floods in Jakarta And West Java, ANTAM & MIND ID Handle And Mitigate Disaster In Operational Areas

Jakarta, January 4, 2020 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM), together with Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID), supports the handling and mitigation of floods and landslides in around operational areas. The companies ensure that operational activities continue to run normally.

ANTAM's Director of Operation and Production, Hartono said:
"In DKI Jakarta and West Java, ANTAM holds 4 operational areas, namely the Precious Metal Processing and Refining Business Unit (UBPP LM) in East Jakarta, the Gold Mining Business Unit (UBPE Pongkor) in Bogor, West Java, ANTAM subsidiary PT Cibaliung Sumberdaya (PT CSD) and the Cikotok Postmining in Banten. ANTAM attempts to ensure the operational activities and the emergency response team can assist the community in the operational area."

In East Jakarta, UBPP LM continues to operate normally. Since January 2, 2020, ANTAM has deployed 2 Emergency Response Group (ERG) teams from UBPP LM and PT CSD. The team support BNPB, BPBD, and East Jakarta Government to manage flood impacts by evacuating residents and distributing food aid and sanitary kits.

In Cibaliung, West Java, PT CSD running normally. Concerning the flood disaster in Lebak Regency, Banten, the PT CSD ERG team, is heading straight to Lebak after completing a humanitarian mission in East Jakarta. The Lebak flood point was 150 km from PT CSD operational area. The company will coordinate with BPBD to conduct emergency response actions.

In the area of ​​Cikotok Postmining, Lebak Regency, Banten, there was no flood. The flood point was in the Citorek area. Currently, the Cikotok Postmining team is heading to Citorek to get further updates. The company will distribute aid such as essential living equipment, namely generators, tarps, tents, and sanitary equipment, as well as food.

In Bogor, West Java, the operational of UBPE Pongkor continues to run normally. Nevertheless, there were landslides at several points that caused the main road cut off, namely in Ciketug and Wates, Pangkaljaya Village, Nanggung District.

Currently, ANTAM is handling the landslides by pipe stakes installation to hold land shifting. Furthermore, compaction is made with split stone, coral, and sirdam materials. The work process utilizes 2 excavators and is expected to be completed quickly. In addition to handling landslides on the main road, ANTAM also distributed assistance to the community with food supplies and basic necessities.
