Jakarta, December 16, 2019 - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM) collected 2,563 books for ANTAM Books Charity Program 2019 since November 6, 2019. The books collection that participated by ANTAM’s employee was held in 7 (seven) regions of Indonesia, such as Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, West Kalimantan, Jakarta, Depok, Garut, and Bogor, West Java.
ANTAM Books Charity Program is one of ANTAM’s concern to education in the surrounding operations area. Through the theme “Lets Introduce the World for Children”, this is a book donation program that voluntary held by the employee to be donated to the children in needs.
ANTAM's President Director, Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo said:
"ANTAM Books Charity program is Our commitment in Indonesian children knowledge development especially in the Company’s surrounding operational areas. In line with Our CSR program, We hope this program will increase reading interest and knowledge of children, the future of Indonesia. This program also held to increase the employee’s social concern to the society."
The ceremony of ANTAM Book Charity Program was held simultaneously on November 27, 2019. President Director of ANTAM donated 300 books for Sekolah Masjid Terminal (Master) student in Depok, West Java.
Meanwhile, the ceremony in Gold Mining Business Unit was held at SMP 1 Nanggung, Bogor as well as the inauguration of Pioneer Library by ANTAM's Human Resources Director, Mr. Luki Setiawan Suardi. Gold Mining Business Unit managed to collect 825 books that were donated to SD Negeri Sukamaju and SD Rimba Kencana as well as Open Junior High School, Cilanggar Village.
The North Maluku Nickel Mining Business Unit also conducted ANTAM Book Charity Program at Rumah Baca Mew Farumi with 318 books donation. Then, the Precious Metals Processing and Refining Business Unit donated 255 books to SMP Negeri 158 Jakarta.
Previously on November 25, 2019, the Southeast Sulawesi Nickel Mining Business Unit also held an ANTAM Book Charity Program and inauguration of Pioneer Library at Terapung Dawi Dawi Elementary School, Southeast Sulawesi. The ceremony was attended by ANTAM's Commerce Director, while also donating 312 books for the school.
Geomin and Technology Development Unit also conducted ANTAM Book Charity Program in Jaya Mekar I Elementary School, Pakenjeng District, Garut Regency, by donating 500 books on November 26, 2019. Meanwhile on November 28, 2019, the West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit donated 208 books to Piasak 1 Elementary School.
ANTAM Book Charity Program is a series of events on the 2nd Anniversary of Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID). This activity is in line with the Noble Purpose of MIND ID to build civilization, improve the welfare of the nation, and create a better future for Indonesia.
