West Kalimantan, January 17, 2023 - The Sanggau Regency Government together with PT ANTAM Tbk (“ANTAM”) through West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit and PT PLN (Persero) (“PLN”) collaborated to expand the electricity network in the Sanggau Regency area.
CSR Manager of ANTAM West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit, Munadji said ANTAM as a State-Owned Company uses CSR programs in supporting the Sanggau Regency Government program, namely “Sanggau Terang.”
“This program will be conducted in stages, because this is a local government program," said Munadji during the inauguration of the expansion of the electricity network in the Tanjung Bunut Village office hall, Tuesday (17/01/2023).
At the inauguration ceremony attended by Deputy Regent of Sanggau Yohanes Ontot. Munadji said that the electrification in Tanjung Bunut Village covers Tengkuyung, Selutung, and Cinka Villages with a length of 8.6 kilometers for medium voltage networks and 2.5 kilometers for low voltage networks through ANTAM's CSR program.
Deputy Regent of Sanggau Yohanes Ontot hopes that the inclusion of electricity in the hamlet area in Tanjung Bunut Village will have an impact on the welfare of the community. Given the role of electrical energy in development in the region is very important as a driver of the economy to improve the quality of life of the community.
Pahmi Anshori, Finance and General Manager of PLN UP3 Sanggau, who was also present at the inauguration, said that the electrical installation was one of the synergies between PLN and ANTAM. Sanggau Regency has the highest electrification rate of 94 percent compared to other districts.
Anshori added that this achievement is the Government's effort to increase public access to electricity both through the PLN network and private power developers (Independent Power Producer/IPP).
