ANTAM Plants 50,000 Paraserianthes Falcataria Trees in Pandeglang and Lebak Regencies, Banten Province

Until December 2013, ANTAM has planted 50,000 seeds of hard wood in the area of Ring I of Cikotok Post Mining and ANTAM’s subsidiary, PT Cibaliung Sumber Daya. The planting was conducted in Cimanggu District, Pandeglang Regency as well as in Malingping, Cibeber and Bayah Districts, Lebak Regency, Banten Province.

To support this activity, ANTAM worked with 29 local farmers groups and CV Harmoni Kebun as facilitators with local government and land owners. The planting was conducted in critical and non-productive lands.

To ensure the growth of the plants, ANTAM conducted care initiatives and frequent monitoring for one year. After one year, care of the plants will be transferred to the local farming groups.

The activity is part of ANTAM’s active support of the government’s One Billion Indonesia Trees (OBIT) program. The activity aims to prevent floods and natural disaster, maintain biodiversity, increase carbon absorption and participate in community welfare. The activity is also synergized with ANTAM’s CSR program.
