ANTAM's Intensive Batik Training for 4 Month in Entikong

Entikong - Implementation of PT ANTAM Tbk (ANTAM) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program as cultural preservation was held through batik training activities participated by communities in the border region of Indonesia and Malaysia, in Entikong District, Sanggau District, West Kalimantan Province.

As many as 75 participants have attended intensive training for 4 months. At the end of the training, 15 best participants were selected, which will be included in the continuation of ANTAM's CSR program in synergy with the Sanggau District Decranasda.

The closing ceremony of the batik training was attended by VP Operations of ANTAM's West Kalimantan Bauxite Mining Business Unit, Agung Adrianto in Entikong on Monday, 1/20/2020.

"Some of the training achievements in accordance with our targets include new motifs with regional characteristics, the formation of the best group of participants, and appreciation also for millennial participants who completed the training documentation project for short films," he said.

ANTAM believes that the success of this activity cannot be separated from the support of all relevant stakeholders. The greatest appreciation was conveyed to various parties including the Provincial Government as the manager of the training site at the Entikong LKI UPT, the Sanggau District Government and the support of the Entikong District.

The Chairperson of Dekranasda, Arita Apolina expressed her appreciation for the batik training for empowering women.

"I hope the participants will continue the program by pursuing batik crafts so that it can be an additional income for households," he hoped.

As an implementation of corporate social responsibility, ANTAM has carried out various community development programs around the operational area and other strategic areas such as education, social culture, economy and so on.

The batik training program is part of the Company's attention to the preservation of the nation's culture which is also an icon of the country's pride.

The closing ceremony of the batik training was also attended by the Head of West Kalimantan Province Head of Ignatius, Chairperson of the Sanggau Regency Dekranasda Mrs. Arita Apolina, Kadisperindagkop UM Sanggau Regency Syarif Ibnu Marwan, Head of Entikong LKI Entikong Markus Dalon and Secretary of Entikong District Head Kosmas Yul.
